Meat Packing facilities are some of the world’s largest producers of biomass and harmful emissions in existence today. Brazil is home to some of the world’s largest meat producers so as a result one of the largest polluters in the industry. The combined inventory of meat animals (cattle and calves, hogs and pigs, sheep and lambs) and inventory of poultry hatchlings (chickens and turkeys) creates enormous waste that creates an enormous problem. The biomass output of the raising and slaughter of these animals is a massive waste management burden; however, we believe could also become a resource for renewable energy conversion. Left alone, these wastes emit methane and carbon dioxide greenhouse gases into the air, produce unacceptable odor that impacts their resident communities, and present a sanitation risk. We believe that the conversion of these wastes could potentially transform such liabilities into a profitable ancillary business for farmers and the owners of meat packing plants.
